Privacy notice for Setronome

As of September 2026

The German version of this notice is the legally binding one; this translation is provided for convenience.

1. Controller

Controller under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

Setronome, a Setlio product
Owner: Igor Lier
c/o IP-Management #11452
Ludwig-Erhard-Str. 18
20459 Hamburg
Germany
Email: info@setlio.net

2. In short

Setronome is a metronome that has to work on stage, including without reception. It therefore runs entirely on your device.

There is no user account and no sign-in. Your songs, setlists, medleys and Guidetracks are never transmitted to us. The app contains no analytics, crash-reporting or advertising components, does not track you across apps, and passes no data to third parties.

3. Your content stays on the device

Data: songs, setlists, medleys, folders, Guidetracks, tempos, time signatures, notes and all settings. Where it is stored: solely in a database file inside the app's protected storage area on your device. Access: we have none. The data only leaves the device if you share or back it up yourself. Deletion: individually in the app at any time, all at once via “Delete all data” in the settings, or by deleting the app.

4. Camera and setlist scan

Data: the photo or PDF of a setlist that you select or capture. Processing: entirely on your device. Text recognition uses Apple's Vision and PDFKit system components. Neither the image nor the recognised text is transmitted. This feature uses no server and no AI service. Permission: camera access is requested at the first scan and can be withdrawn in the iOS settings at any time. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performing the function you asked for).

5. Song directory (optional)

Setronome can download a directory of tempo and time-signature data for around 5.3 million recordings. Downloading it is optional; without it the app works unchanged.

While downloading: the file is fetched once from our file storage at Supabase (servers in the EU, Frankfurt). As with any file download on the internet, your IP address and the time of the request are technically visible to the host. Afterwards: the directory lives on your device. Search runs entirely offline: search terms, song titles and results are not transmitted. Nothing is ever uploaded. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Deletion: the directory can be removed again in the settings; the space is freed immediately.

6. Bluetooth foot switches

The Bluetooth permission serves only to find a nearby foot switch and talk to it. No location is determined, and no device or connection data is transmitted.

7. Microphone

Setronome listens through the microphone only while you use “Hear the tempo”. What it hears is used solely on the device to work out the tempo: nothing is stored, nothing is buffered and nothing is transmitted. Access to the microphone ends when the measurement ends. Outside this feature Setronome does not access it at all.

8. Backups, sharing and import

Backups, shared setlists, PDF printouts and exported click tracks are only created when you start them yourself. Where such a file goes (the Files app, mail, AirDrop, a cloud service of your choice) you decide in the iOS share sheet. We are not involved and receive no copy.

9. iCloud

An earlier iCloud sync has been removed. All that remains is the option to import an older database from your own iCloud folder onto the device once. That is a move within your own Apple account; no data reaches us.

10. Feedback by email

The “Send feedback” button opens your mail app with the address info@setlio.net, a subject line and the app version in the body. Nothing is sent until you send it. Data: your sender address and what you write. Purpose: answering your message and fixing faults. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in handling enquiries). Mail host: IONOS SE, Germany. Retention: until your enquiry is settled; statutory retention obligations remain unaffected.

11. Purchase, App Store and crash reports

Setronome is distributed through the App Store. Purchase, delivery and updates are handled by Apple as an independent controller; we receive no names and no payment data from Apple, only aggregated sales figures.

If you have agreed in the iOS settings to share analytics and crash data with developers, Apple provides us with such reports in aggregated form. The app itself contains no analytics, crash-reporting or advertising component.

12. Connection to Setlio

Setronome is a Setlio product. The shipped version contains no connection to the Setlio platform: no account, no sign-in, no band sync. Should such a connection be offered later, it will be optional, explained beforehand, and this notice will be extended accordingly first.

13. Recipients and disclosure

Beyond the parties named above, no data is passed on. No data is sold, no advertising is served, and there is no cross-app tracking.

14. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21). Consent given can be withdrawn at any time with future effect.

Because we store no data about your app content, we cannot provide information about it either. It exists solely on your device. For everything else, an informal message to info@setlio.net is enough.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the authority where you live or the one responsible for the controller's seat (Hamburg: Der Hamburgische Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit).

15. Changes to this notice

This notice is adapted when necessary, for instance for new features or a changed legal situation. The current version is available here and in the app under “Settings → Privacy”.
